Middle School Athletics Newsletter

February 2025 Edition

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR'S CORNER

Welcome to the February 2025 Athletics Newsletter. The 2024/2025 Winter Sports Season is nearing completion and we are looking forward to spring sports and nicer weather. Spring sports conditioning begins in March, weather permitting, the date will be announced soon.

At Brownstown Middle School, we believe athletics is a vital pathway for exploration, discovery, and participation. We encourage students to explore their interests and talents through diverse sports, fostering a spirit of teamwork and resilience. Our programs are designed to ignite curiosity and inspire self-discovery, allowing every student to uncover their potential, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills. Participation is at the heart of our approach, ensuring that every athlete feels included and valued, creating a community where all can thrive and grow, both on and off the field.

WBSD APP, "ROOMS" NEW COMMUNICATION TOOL FOR COACHES, FAMILIES

Rooms

Communicating with coaches just got easier as the WBSD is moving toward one communication platform for our coaching staff.

"Rooms," is built into the WBSD app, so parents only have to go to one place to communicate with coaches instead of multiple apps.

Rooms offers a Stream, where coaches can post announcements and content for all to see. In Messages, coaches can message parents individually if needed. Lastly, messages and announcements will automatically be translated according to the language setting on your device. That means if your phone is set to Spanish, Messages and Announcements within Rooms will automatically be translated to Spanish—without you having to change a single setting on the app.

If parents did not accept the invitation for Rooms which was pushed in December, they can go to edurooms.com and sign in with their cell phone number to be automatically connected to their students’ Rooms. NOTE: this must be the same cell phone number associated with their student(s) in Mistar. One of the benefits to Rooms is you only have to sign up once.

Have more questions about Rooms? See the WBSD homepage at https://www.mywbsd.org/o/wbsd/page/rooms-support for more support.
