  • Walker Status (2025–2026 School Year):

    • Must be approved via our Walker Request Form.

    • Only available for families living within a safe walking distance.

    • Children outside the walking zone must use the car rider line.

  • Car Tags: Ensure your car tag is clearly displayed. Need a new one? Contact the office.

  • Parking Lot Usage

    • Front Lot: Reserved for staff, buses, Ms. T’s class, and GSRP arrival/dismissal only.
Please do not park in the front lot during arrival and dismissal.

    • Student Drop-Off:
Use the back lot for drop-off until 9:10 AM.
After 9:10, please come into the building and sign your child in at the front office.

  • Bus Access: Keep the front entrance clear so buses can arrive and depart safely.

  • Stay in Your Vehicle: Do not exit your car during drop-off or pick-up. Staff will assist your child.

  • Respect Neighbors: Do not block driveways in the Heritage subdivision. Your courtesy makes a big difference.

When everyone follows these procedures, traffic moves smoothly, and students stay safe.
One car in the wrong spot can disrupt the entire system—thank you for doing your part!

Together, we can ensure a safe, orderly, and courteous environment for all.

Santa Shop Information

Dear Erving Families,

Get ready for some holiday fun - our annual Santa’s Secret Shop is coming soon!

It will be held on Monday December 8 - Friday December 12. Your student will be shopping with their class during school hours.

This is always such a fun experience for our students - they love picking out gifts all on their own! Your child will have the chance to shop for special gifts for friends and family. All items range from $0.25-$15.

We can’t run this magical shop without our amazing volunteers! You will help students shop, wrap gifts and spread holiday cheer at Erving!

We will be using Sign-Up Genius for volunteer scheduling. You can find the link on Class Dojo, the Erving Facebook page and your child’s classroom communication. Please sign up by Friday, November 21 if you can lend a hand (you will need an i-Chat on file).

Questions? Please email: ervingpto@wbsdweb.com.

Thank you for helping make this a jolly, joy-filled event for our students!

Early Dismissal

For the safety and smooth dismissal of all students, early pick-ups must be completed before 3:30 PM. If you need to pick up your child early, please plan to arrive prior to that time. Thank you for your cooperation.

Birthday Celebrations

We love recognizing our students’ birthdays! To keep celebrations safe and inclusive for all, please do not send food items such as cupcakes or candy. Instead, consider donating a book, game, or recess equipment. Contact your child’s teacher for fun, non-food ideas.

Attendance Matters

Children can only thrive in school if they are present in school. Listed below are our definitions of and policies about attendance.

Absence—any day that a student misses school.

  • Late arrivals - After 9:30 am the student will be marked absent for the morning.

  • Early Dismissal - before 2:30 pm in the student will be marked absent for the PM.

Excused Absence—Any medically documented absence, funeral days, or court date will not be counted against the student.

Excessive Absences:

  • If a child accumulates 10 absences in a school year, the building administrator will send a letter to inform the parent/guardian

  • If the child reaches 15 absences in a school year the building administrator will inform the local police department of a potential truancy issue.

  • The police department will then contact or visit the child’s home to discuss the truancy with the parents.

  • If the absences reach 20 in a school year, according to law, referrals must be made to the Local Police Department and possibly, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

*Parents are encouraged not to take their children out of school for vacations. Vacation days are considered unexcused.

TARDIES—arrives late or leaves early from school and missing LESS than 55 minutes of school time
