Please do not park in the front lot during arrival and dismissal.

    • Student Drop-Off:
Use the back lot for drop-off until 9:10 AM.
After 9:10, please come into the building and sign your child in at the front office.

  • Bus Access: Keep the front entrance clear so buses can arrive and depart safely.

Attendance Matters

Children can only thrive in school if they are present in school. Listed below are our definitions of and policies about attendance.

Absence—any day that a student misses school.

  • Late arrivals - After 9:30 am the student will be marked absent for the morning.

  • Early Dismissal - before 2:30 pm in the student will be marked absent for the PM.

Excused Absence—Any medically documented absence, funeral days, or court date will not be counted against the student.

Excessive Absences:

  • If a child accumulates 10 absences in a school year, the building administrator will send a letter to inform the parent/guardian

  • If the child reaches 15 absences in a school year the building administrator will inform the local police department of a potential truancy issue.

  • The police department will then contact or visit the child’s home to discuss the truancy with the parents.

  • If the absences reach 20 in a school year, according to law, referrals must be made to the Local Police Department and possibly, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

*Parents are encouraged not to take their children out of school for vacations. Vacation days are considered unexcused.

TARDIES—arrives late or leaves early from school and missing LESS than 55 minutes of school time
