| It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot, and wind blows cold: when it's summer in the light and winter in the shade." - Great Expectations
Spring is in the air today. This is the time of year when we get to watch the Earth come back to life, with green and vibrant colors blooming all around us. The sun's warmth fills us with energy and enthusiasm to be outside. Our goal is to bring all this color and energy into our school. Our Gudith Elementary Community – students, teachers, support staff, parents, and the community- is an amazing group of people. As we wrap up the second trimester of the year, I want to encourage us all to carry on with the energy that spring will bring. Carry on and enjoy the beauty that is all around us, and especially in our students.

WBSD Visitor/Volunteer Management System
Please have your ID with you when you come to visit us! Our number one priority at Gudith is the safety of our students, staff, and visitors. To make our building safe, we have installed a Visitor Management System. Each time a visitor or volunteer arrives, they are required to immediately report to the main office to scan their identification and receive a visitor's/volunteer badge before they are permitted to enter. The visitor management system is used to verify the identity of a visitor, keep track of check-in and check-out times, and print custom visitor labels. It also provides a consistent system to track visitors and volunteers across the district. |

We love celebrating our students’ birthdays and making them feel special! To keep our classroom safe, healthy, and inclusive for all children, we will no longer be accepting food or edible birthday treats. Instead, we will celebrate birthdays in fun, non-food ways — such as: The birthday child is wearing a special crown The class will sing the birthday song Choosing a favorite book to bring from home/or choosing one in our class to be read aloud Please know that we will be sure to make each student feel very special on their day! |

Gudith Staff and Students will be participating in The Zones of Regulation curriculum, which are lessons to help them gain skills in the area of self-regulation. Self-regulation is defined as the best state of alertness of both the body and emotions for a specific situation. The lessons and learning activities are designed to help the students recognize when they are in the different zones as well as learn how to use strategies to change or stay in the zone they are in. |
