Each Monday, we see who has perfect attendance for the prior week and randomly draw four winners for a $10 Rev'd Up Fun arcade gift card. For the week of April 13, we had 255 Wildcats who had perfect attendance (down from 286 the week before); see picture of our winners below!

Yearbook Update: We have a SMALL window to place last-minute orders for yearbooks; please bring cash or check (made out to Wegienka Elementary) for $12 to the office by April 30 if you would like to order a yearbook.

Please consider filling out a survey regarding our Building Healthy Communities program: with our last month of programming approaching, we hope to get a jump start on our year-end surveys. We value your experience with our program and appreciate any feedback you may have. Based on data collected through these surveys, we adjust our programming regularly. Please aim to complete final surveys by Friday, May 8th. Here is the link to complete the survey.

Teacher Request Forms are available in the office, and will be accepted only until this Friday, May 1. Please note you may request a teacher for your child ONCE while at Wegienka.

Free Preschool for 2026-27! Are you or someone you know looking for a high-quality preschool experience? The interest form for the 2026-27 Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is now open! GSRP is Michigan’s state-funded preschool program for eligible 4-year-olds. Space is limited, so we encourage interested families to complete the interest form today. Please see the flyer below.

Please remember to call the office before 3 pm with any dismissal changes; this includes any after school programs like Young Rembrandts art program or Student Council. If you need to email, please email both Mrs. Rodriguez (rodrigj@wbsdweb.com) and Ms. Richards (richardsj@wbsdweb.com). Also, please email doctor and dentist notes to both Mrs. Rodríguez and Ms. Richards, as we work together on attendance.

The BOGO Book Fair is next week starting on Wednesday, April 29th - Friday, May 1st.

The PTO Fun Run Fundraiser kicks next Monday, April 27! Flyers will be coming home as we prepare for our primary fundraiser to support the activities and programs that take place throughout the school year.

As we head into May, a few reminders:

 - PTO Board elections for the next school year will take place at the May 4th PTO meeting. The attached flyer outlines the different positions and responsibilities. If you are considering throwing your name in the hat for a position and have any questions please feel free to contact any current Board member or email us at wegpto@wbsdweb.com. We have an exciting year ahead in the district! We encourage parents to attend a this PTO meeting in person to meet our new Superintendent of Schools; however, we have also added a Google Meet option. Please note that the meeting will be held in the media center, and the camera to see and participate will be on a laptop; therefore, in-person attendance is recommended.

 - Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is coming up May 11-15.

 - The Fun Run will take place on Friday, May 15. If you would like to volunteer to help at this event, sign up HERE.
