Wegienka Weekly Update

Week of October 26, 2026

Wildcat Home Logo

Thank you for your full support of our fall Read-A-Thon fundraiser!      We also want to give a big shout out to Rev'd Up Fun in Woodhaven, Taco Bell in Flat Rock, and Hungry Howie's for their generous donation of prizes!

We are in need of new/gently used pants for our "Ooops" closet (clothes for students with accidents); it is easier for our younger friends to wear pants with elastic waists as opposed to buttons, snaps, and zippers. Please send any donations you may have to the office. Thank you!

If you must pick up your child early, please arrive to the school no later than 2:50. We do not dismiss students from the office after 3 pm. Thank you for your understanding.

Please remember we will follow whatever the tag says on your child's backpack for dismissal; if you must change your child's mode of transportation home, please call the office before 3 pm on the day of the change. If you need to email, please email both Mrs. Rodriguez (rodrigj@wbsdweb.com) and Ms. Richards (richardsj@wbsdweb.com).

Please email doctor and dentist notes to both Mrs. Rodríguez and Ms. Richards (see email addresses above), as we work together on attendance.

Please take note of our birthday celebration policies: due to food allergies, we do not allow edible birthday treats for the class to be distributed. If you choose to have your child celebrate at school, once you have cleared it with the teacher, we do allow pencils, stickers, party favor items, etc. to be distributed to classmates. As far as out-of-school celebrations, if you choose to invite classmates, please ensure that either the entire class receives an invitation, OR ALL boys or ALL girls are invited. Otherwise, please send invitations outside of school.

FOR CAR RIDERS: Please unbuckle the car seat BEFORE approaching the front doors (either in line before getting to the unloading zone, or in a parking spot before joining the line) as staff is UNABLE to assist in that way. If at all possible, please have the car seat in the row immediately behind the driver and on the passenger side to avoid the line backing up behind you as the child is getting out of/into the car. Please note: staff is there to assist with opening car doors, but are not solely responsible for opening the doors. Please instruct your student to open the door and get out of the car once you have pulled safely to a stop. This will allow the line to move more efficiently. Thank you!

To ensure that you will receive important information regarding all things Wegienka, please verify that your phone number and email address are up-to-date in ParentConnect throughout the school year. Thank you!
